AEM Cold Air Intake System
Application: Mazdaspeed 3
Years: 2007 and up
Part Number: 21-642

The AEM Cold Air Intake features a mandrel-bent 6061 aluminum inlet pipe for durability and light weight. Each AEM Cold Air Intake system's length and diameter has been tuned and tested to work with an engine's harmonics (resonance frequencies) to help carry more air to the inlet valves across the RPM range.

Each AEM Cold Air Intake features one of AEM's revolutionary DRYFLOW filters. Their unique non-woven polyester element is independently tested to filter out 98.6% of airborne fine dust in initial efficiency, with an industry leading cumulative efficiency of 99.4% (cumulative efficiency is the average for the test cycle). The DRYFLOW also filters down to ONE MICRON of particulate! Competitors claim that as the filter gets dirty, it filters more efficiently. While this is true, what they dont tell you is that their clean filter lets dirt through until it traps enough to become efficient! Get the best filtration the first time with AEM BRUTE FORCE intakes and the DRYFLOW Synthetic filter.

All AEM Cold Air Intake systems come with a complete hardware kit and a comprehensive installation instruction guide.

Every AEM Cold Air Intake is either C.A.R.B. exempt or pending C.A.R.B. exemption (50-state legal). All AEM Cold Air Intakes are manufactured and assembled in the U.S.A.

5 of 5 AEM ON AN MS3 2010 March 2, 2010
Reviewer: Gerard Lozano from san leandro, CA United States
Got this baby last week and got it installed with some help from the MOCC guys here in the Bay Area.

Awesome news for the 2010 owners. If you wish to get this CAI, you won't have to take off your bumper nor go under the car. With the 2nd gen MS3 your have more room for the uber large filter.

I'm loving it and will vouch for it. Just still kinda pricey compared to other CAIs.

4 of 5 Awesome intake August 31, 2009
Reviewer: Joey Maiore from Bloomfield, New Jersey
From the second i installed the intake and heard the spooling i fell in love the second gear acceleration is amazing.  The gains in horsepower are not a myth this intake really makes a difference. The only bad thing is that the air filter is huge and barely fits behind  the splash guard so it makes installation a bit of a pain all in all it took about an hour and i couldnt be happier

5 of 5 happy with aem cai November 3, 2008
Reviewer: Dan the mailman from orleans, ON Canada
i was skeptic at first with the power gain claimed by people who had installed the cai from aem. i soon realized that the 26 hp gain was right after installing it. I might have lost a little low end torque but the car runs freely to the red line with no drop in power. It was little bit price and lttle hard to installed but overall very impress.

4 of 5 Very Nice!!! October 30, 2008
Reviewer: Dan's red MS3 from Longwood, FL United States
For a cold air it is a bit pricy, but after watching the installation on youtube of a before and after, it proved over a 20hp gain. I thought that was very impressive. Installation was a bit of a pain because of the filter being so big, but a tremendous gain in power. I'm not gonna say this is the best buy because it's been my one and only but I'm happy with my purchase. It gives a real nice sucking sound and I love hearing it spool around 2200 rpm's. I love it! Thanks SU

4 of 5 Great Quality October 12, 2008
Reviewer: 08.5 MS3 from trabuco canyon, CA United States
Great quality and awesome directions. I got the gun metal color and it looked better then on the pic. I didn't feel much of a gain, although i have more mid to high range power. I think i lost some tourqe and HP around 1000- 1500 rpm. All in all a good buy.
