5 of 5 Great Product March 13, 2009

A different sound from the stock BOV completely. I put it in Recirculation mode and definitely noticed a difference in boost performance in the higher gears. My only issue was the location of the hosing on the BOV itself, the hood would crimp the hose when closed. Taking the end off the BOV and rotating it fixed this. Overall a great product.

5 of 5 Very Smooth February 24, 2009

Personally, I think this BOV is soo much better than any other on the market for this car. I run my BOV in VTA mode, and one incredible improvement is the shifting under hard acceleration. There is no more lag between shifts, and car picks up slightly faster than before. The pssshh sound is also a good way to turn some heads because some ppl dnt realize this car for what it is because of the hatch. No regrets on my end. 5 stars.

5 of 5 HKS SSQV Installation May 27, 2008
Reviewer: Jeff from Saint Louis, MO United States
Regarding the previous review by Tim.  The tool you must have to install the snap ring is called snap ring pliers.  Also, I highly recommend running this BOV in recirculation mode... not in (VTA) vent to atmosphere mode.  The Mazdaspeed turbos do not run as well in 100% VTA mode due to AFR ratio being controlled by the MAF sensor on the intake.  This BOV is still quite loud in recirculation mode so there is really no reason to run in VTA.

5 of 5 HKS BoV installed! May 10, 2007
Reviewer: Tim from Corinth, MS
Purchased a HKS SSQ BoV the other day. After perhaps 2-3hrs instalation time it was installed on my 2007 Mazdaspeed 3 In my opinion, well worth it. I set it up to vent to atmosphere.

The BoV is very loud, course thats what I wanted. I would reccomend it to anyone who wants one. It was an easy install and there were minimal issues.

1st issue. . . if your one of those anal retentive show car clean types you MAY be served better by the greddy BoV. This is simply due to clearance issues. The black peice of plastic that covers the intercooler BARELY touches the BoV and has left a small imperfection on the outside of the valve.   (I could care less it's very very minimal)

2nd issue. . . You will need a special pair of pliers. I cannot remember the name of them off hand.  They are used to compress a C shaped ring with little holes in the ends of the C. This ring holds the BoV inside the flange.

Customer service is good too!  ^ . ^
