First off, Street Unit was on back order for this product so they called Cobb and had this product ship directly from their warehouse to my beach pad in CA. Great customer service!

The SRI is very well made and had easy directions to follow. As other people may have mentioned one of the elbows to take off was a serious pain in the ass, but after some friendly caressing it did come off.

I did pair this with the Turbo Smart BOV so I cannot give a good indication what this sounds like alone. But together they sound amazing!

WARNING: After 100 miles my check engine light did come on. I took it into the Mazda dealership and they said it was running lean (which of course is the point when adding the SRI.) More air caused the sensor to get very happy. They did not charge me for this but did tell me if this happened again to buy an Access port or a OBD-2 sensor and I would be able to turn off the light myself.

Great Product and Great Customer Service, so pick it up!

5 of 5 Cobb Quality January 14, 2010

Incredible upgrade from the stock unit.  Not only do I have significantly more power, but I'm seeing up to 20% better fuel economy.  I almost can't believe it, but I am up 4-5mpg every tank now.  I've only ever installed one intake before (on a MkV GLI), but this was one of the easiest installs I've ever done.  The Cobb parts fit like a glove and the instructions are amazing.  It took me 40 minutes total to do the whole thing and that included about 15 minutes trying to get the stock accordion tube off the turbo and the vacuum line (I ended up having to remove the tube from the turbo inlet first, then basically unscrew it from the vacuum line).

Probably the biggest "wow" upgrade I've done so far. Bang for your buck is incredible.

Install was pretty simple, but the damn elbow joint was a pain in the a$$ to get off the stock accordian tube, that was my only difficulty. The rest was easy. Took me about an 1 1/2hrs, but I wanted to do it right so I worked slowly

Average driving makes a great sound, but it sounds incredible when you push it. I have it paired with a DP Turbosmart BOV and it sounds mean.

I wasn't sure if it was my car or just all in my head, but I thought it added some power to the car. My friend noticed the extra pull too without me mentioning it so that assured my doubts. More power.

I really like the way it looks, and all my friends were pretty jealous - another reason to buy

I asked my Dealership if the Cobb SRI would void my warranty and THEY said (call and check w/ yours) that it had a connection for the MAF sensor therefor it doesn't void my warranty

Adds power, sounds great, relatively cheap, looks clean and doesn't void MY warranty. All-around good intake, worth the buy.

5 of 5 Cobb SF Intake October 30, 2009
Reviewer: Greg Gilbert from Robertsdale, AL United States
Very clean, well designed, and cheap! Heck of an improvement for $175.00! Great instructions and fit. I installed the SF and the Cobb turbo inlet tube in about an hour and a half and I have not turned a wrench in 10 years. The only thing that was a pain was getting the silicone hoses to go over the metal insets. I took a moment and beveled the inside edge with an x-acto knife and it finally went on.
otherwise it was a breeze.
I love the results. More power, broader curve and great sounds. Must have added a good 15 hp. Awesome bang for the buck.

THis Intake not only gives you noticeable gains, but it also cleans up your engine compartment, by gettin rid of that bulky airbox.
I also makes your factory diverter valve alot more noticable
