The PERRIN performance™ upgraded lower support bar adds additional support and accommodates aftermarket down pipes.

The PERRIN™ brace bar is machined from virgin 6061 aluminum. The new I beam design is a lighter, stronger design than the tubular, factory steel design. The PERRIN™ brace provides the additional clearance for three inch down pipes and adds additional support to the sub-frame. All of these benefits come in a stylish, compact lightweight package.

When fitting aftermarket down pipes to the   EVO VIII tuners will discover inadequate clearance from the lower front frame support to the sub-frame. Most consumers will have to discard the factory frame brace in order to fit an after market down pipe.

Removing the factory brace solves the problem of clearance but results in a loss of the additional bracing. This brace was designed by Mitsubishi engineers to add additional lateral support between the mounting point of the sub-frame to the uni-body.   Without the brace bar dynamic steering angles can change under hard cornering.
