MazdaSpeed 6 short shifters by TWM Performance are designed with the needs of the most demanding tuners in mind. CNC machined from high strength steel and tig welded, this short shifter is guaranteed to last the life of your vehicle.

The Stage 1 TWM short shifter for the MazdaSpeed 6 reduces shifter throw by 28%, while maintaining stock shift knob height. The stage 1 short shifter kit consists of the CNC machined steel shift adapter plate to reposition the shift cable mounting point, as well as all mounting hardware and optional base bushings.

the install was simple. you do have to drill one hole to complete install, but not hard at all. the only real time consuming steps involved taking the center console apart, but the instructions are very well laid out. you will notice the diference immediately! throw is definitely shorter! my only gripe, now that it's in, kinda wish i had gone with the stage 2. maybe later.

Big difference	August 29, 2008

I chose the stage 1 because i prefer tall shifters, i'm used to touring style shifter being at your shoulders! Took 1 hour with bushings, some extra drilling required (all in instructions) since i've got the 07 which had some small changes from 06, but no biggie. The install went tandem with the SU rear engine mount. Together the combo is night and day, finally feels like my old mans m5, solid and predictable shifting - we'll see what the 1/4 mile brings. I recommend this + engine mount as a great 300$ combo.
