Description   Custom Performance Engineering™, Inc., (CPE™) is proud to announce the release of its XCel Intake for the MazdaSPEED6! Piping Diameter: 2.75 inches The factory intake is great at one thing, suppressing horsepower and all the cool sounds that a turbo car makes! There is only one inlet on the MazdaSPEED6 factory airbox even the 6s and 6i have two inlets. The 6i and 6s have the exact same inlet plus an additional inlet that opens in the higher RPM ranges. There is a substantial amount of horsepower to be made by replacing the intake. Turbo cars are very sensitive to temperature increases, therefore in testing CPE tried both a short ram intake and a cold air intake (CAI). After measuring temperatures throughout the intake track CPE determined that a CAI was in order. The XCel™ MazdaSPEED6 intake is the first intake only for any Mazda6 that will not set a check engine light (CEL). CPE spent a great deal of time engineering and figuring out a way to mass produce an intake that wouldn’t set a CEL. CPE determined that a similar design to the 6i and 6s would be used. Just right August 29, 2008 Reviewer: Jacek Materna from Nepean, ON Canada   Easy install. Reaks of quality. 6000 miles, no CEL or any issue whatsoever. The sound is great. Top end has opened up past 5500PRM. I do autoX so being able to hold upto redline all the time is critical. Took it on 5000 mile trip in the summer, Canada to Florida and back, through many monsoons, no problems with water at any point - mind you i have the pre-filter from cp-e. Great Buy August 21, 2008 Reviewer: Carl Parks from Long Valley, NJ United States   With out a doubt one of the first things that should be done. You can hear the turbo spool through every gear, alone with a improvement in power as well. Went with the powdercoat as well which looks beautiful. Real easy instal. Already there. August 14, 2008 Reviewer: Wade from Rex, GA United States   Intake was on the car when i bought it. Guy before me said it made a big difference is power and mpg. Sounds like a vaccum cleaner driving down the road. I like it. Almost obnoxious when making alot of boost. I like that too. Even louder when BOV lets go. I love that.
